The first day out is the longest day imaginable. After an on-time departure from Atlanta at 11:30pm, we had a somewhat bumpy ride across the Atlantic Ocean and landed in Paris at about 2:00pm local time. Customs was the easiest ever and we all sailed through. We had two little issues, one lost camera (yours truly) and one delayed piece of luggage.
We found our way through Charles De Gaulle Airport to the train station, bought tickets, and our intrepid group rolled into Paris on the RER B line. At times the train was packed with people so it was quite a squeeze with all of us and our luggage. After the switch to ligne 6 on the Metro it was a very short (comparably) ride to Dupleix which is the station closest to our hotel.
The hotel was ready for us and we were all able to get into our rooms and spread out a bit. A welcome moment to relax after all our travel adventures. Next we had to find dinner. We all went on a little tour around our neighborhood with Mick and I pointing out the restaurants and shops.
Croque Madame
After dinner, you would think we would all be too tired to wiggle yet some of us managed a quick walk over to the Eiffel Tower!
